  • Reverse Engineering of Perfectionism

In this talk, Dr. Isil Kalafat Kizilkaya, a mother of two, will share her experiences from her semiconductor career. As an electronics engineer who has worked in several sectors, including defense, academia, avionics, and quantum technology, she will take you through her journey. This will include her early career illusions, the challenges of being a first-time mother, and her matured perspective. Dr. Kalafat will pose the question: What is the art of perfectionism? She will provide examples of perfectionist artists and showcase some of their work to correlate with the daily lives of modern women and the expectations placed upon them. Dr. Kalafat aims to conduct an interactive talk to reverse engineer perfectionism in order to identify the requirements for women in engineering.
